Reba's Garden Seeding Donation Program

Each year, Machaven Farm donates vegetable, companion plant, and pollinator flower seedlings to charitable organizations.  Last year we donated over 1,200 seedlings to organizations in our community.  This year we formally established Reba's Garden Seedling Donation Program.

Reba Blount was my beloved grandmother. She embodied kindness and generosity. Her heart and the way she lived are something that we all should aspire to each day. She loved her garden and tended to it even as her body failed her. Today her roses greet you as you drive through the gates of Machaven Farm. This program is one way we move her kindness and love forward in the world.

Groups that qualify for seed donations include:

Community and educational groups who will freely share the harvest
Community and educational groups who will share seedlings with those in need
Non-profits, schools, community gardens, and educational programs

To qualify for a Reba's Garden seedling donation, an organization must be a nonprofit or have a nonprofit umbrella sponsorship and be in Alamance or neighboring counties in North Carolina and be able to pick up donations from Machaven Farm's nursery.  Seedlings from a Reba's Garden seedling donation may not be sold, raffled, or given in exchange for money or donation, including for fundraising events. Recipients will request specific varieties, which our volunteers will try to fill, but may receive a similar selection of seedling varieties. Organizations may not apply for more than one Reba's Garden seedling donation every 6 months.
